    Handmade with Two Sleeping Cats

    Hello everyone,
today I was shopping and I extended my collection of Copics, because even with all my colors I'm always missing the right one. But with all these colors in my stash I often loose the overview over which colors I have and how they look on a piece of cardstock. That's why I build a color table in Excel. There I not only write down the name and the number, I also write down how many markers of a specific color I have (unfortunately I already bought some Copics twice) and what kind of marker they are.
That way I can always choose the matching color without trying it out on a scrap piece of paper and checking if the combination is ok. To prevent the color swatches from getting dirty, I put them in a plastic pocket. For everyone wondering where the rest of the colors, e.g the earth tones, are I made them double sided ;)

And to always know which colors I'm missing while shopping, I put a copy in my Google Drive, so that I can always have a look with my Smartphone.

    Hello  everyone,
my organizing craze went to the second round today. After I put all my dies onto some magnetig storage sheets, I will do the same for my stamps and their coordinating dies today.

If I buy a stamps set, I normally buy the coordinating dies with it. I prefer die cutting my images over cutting them with my scissors, i just find it more practical. Uo to now I just squeezed the package with the dies into the package of the stamps, but that often led to the tearing of the stamp package. That's why I bought the "Stix2 A4 Magnetic Storage Sheets" at Dani Peuss. On the one side these sheets have a dark magnetix surface and on the other side a white surface onto which the stamps can be stuck.
With my paper trimmer I cut them to the right size and stuck my stamps and dies onto it. In order to see how the stamps look, I kept the original printed transparent sheet, even though the stamps are now mirror-inverted to their images on the sheet. In exchange I now have everything together in one place and don't tear the packages.

    Hello everyone,
today I don't have a card, but instead a quick tip on storing dies. I belong to the people, who like to keep their dies in their original packages and therefor just don't want to use a storage box with magnetic plates. Due to this I was really happy when I saw this video by Mission Ordnung .

In this video, the magnetic sheets with paper coating are mentioned as an cheap alternative to some more expensive magnetig shims. So I immediately went to the Tedi and bought a bunch of these, because I was already looking for ages for something like this. For the price of 1,50€ you get two A5 sized sheets. I glued them onto some Comic Boards  and trimmed them to the right size. That way they have a nice stability and I can see what is in the package.

    Hello everyone,
here I have a quick card for you, since I absolutely had to try out my new Taylored Expressions Embossing Folder.
I took a  a piece of blue Cardstock which I had lying around. Onto that I adhered a piece of white cardstock which I died with my Gummiapan "Stitched Circles" and which was big enough for the little hedgehog from the Penny Black "Smile All Day" set to fit in. I stamped my sentiment onto a banner I die cut with the Lawn Fawn "Fancy Folded Banners" set and colored it with the Spectrum Noir Clear Glitter Brush Pen. To finish off my card I added some seqions by Pretty Pink Posh.

    Hello everyone,
today I made a shaker card with "The Cat's Meow" set, which is part of the new release by Mama Elephant. When I saw this set, I immediately fell in love with it and knew I had to buy it.
The frame for the shaker window was die cut with the Mama Elephant "Madison Avenue Framed Tag" dies. For the balloons I grabbed the Avery Elle "Letter Balloon Dies" set.

First I colored the cats and all letters. Afterwards I placed the cats behind the frame die cut und cut off the overhanging pieces of paper. Because I wanted to have my cats in front of the shaker mechanism, I glued my piece of acetate behind them.
For my background I stamped a piece of cardstock with the My Favorite Things "Bold Diagonal Stripes" in Hero Arts "Charcoal" bestempelt. Before I adhered the background to the shaker I put some sequins by Neat & Tangled in.
The finished shaker was then glued to the onto the card base, which I colored with Ranger "Broken China" on the front of the card base.
To finish off my card, I covered the die cut and colored letters with Glossy Accents and put them onto my card. With a fine marker I added the strings for the balloons.

    Hello everyone,
Father's Day nears and therefore I want to make his day extra special and show him that I think about him with a hadmade card.
I die cut a heart with the Sunny Studio Stanzformen "Stitched Hearts" and glued a piece of Tedi Design Paper behind that. I purposely wanted to make a modest and simple card, because it still is for a man. That's why I just added the sheep with the heart and added a little bit of Ranger Glossy Accents for a bit of shine. To finish my card of I added the sentiment on the front of the card.

    Hello everyone,
today I have made three cards with the Penny Black "Smile All Day" set. I think this set absolutely gorgeous and really cute. It is so detailled and playful.

The first card is relatively simple. For the background I put some Frogtape around a piece of cardstock and then colored it with Ranger Distress Ink. Afterwards I stamped my images an some cardstock and colored them with Copics. To finish off my card I adhered my stamped images onto the card and added my sentiment.

    Hello everyone,
today I made a wedding card for some friends of mine. I used the bunny pair of the Mama Elephant "Honey Bunny" set, which I die cut and colored with my Copic Markers. I added them to my stitched heart, which I die cut with the second largest heart from the "Stitched Hearts" by Sunny Studio and also colored with my Copics.
The frame was made from another piece of cardstock I die cut and on which I stamped the My Favorite Things "Bold Diagonal Stripes" in Hero Arts "Charcoal". Behind this frame I glued my piece of Heat Resistant Acetate and embossed my sentiment onto it.
To complete my card, I put two layers of foam tape on my frame and mounted it on my card, after I put my sequins in the middle of the card.

    Hello everyone,
today I made a card for a dear colleague, who leaves our company. Because this card is for a man, I
didn't want it to be that playful but instead more maskuline.
I thought really long about what kind of theme the card should have. Maybe flowers? Or something more neutral? Finally I thought that I was making my own image. And what other image could I have choosen than the robot for which we developed software, the LBR iiwa by KUKA.

So I looked for reference photos in the internet and drew my little robot. Midway I thought that it would be pretty cool if the robot could actually move his arm. That's why I copied his upper arm and cut the original upper arm off. With a brad that I had lying around, I combined the upper and the lower robot arm. Because the brass was originally red, I just embossed it with silver embossing powder.
For the background I colored a piece of cardstock with the Simson Says Stencil "Diagonal Stripes" and Ranger Distress Ink "Hickory smoke" onto which I stamped my sentiment from the Dani Peuss Klartext stamp set "Alles Gute". The other half of the sentiment I embossed with white embossing powder on a piece of black cardstock.
I glued the background onto another piece of cardstock which I die cut and colored with the Copic Marker YR04 "Chrome Orange" so it matches the robot perfect.
Then I glued everything onto my card base.

today I made another card with the Zig Clean Color Real Brushes. I love them really and it is so easy to color with them. The colors are so vibrant and I like that as well.
For this card I stamped my image on watercolor paper with Versamark and embossed it with Ranger Embossing Powder. Then I colored the image and die cut it with the Lawn Fawn "Large Dotted Rectangle Stackables".

    Hello everyone,
today I met with a friend for a crafty evening. While she designed a T-Shirt, I made this card. She was really curious, since she has never seen someone making cards and just saw my finished ones.
For this card I took a piece of Canson XL Watercolor Paper and stamped it with Versamark and the Altenew "Fresh Freesia" stamps and then embossed it Ranger White Embossing Powder Super Fine. Afterwards I put down my colors with the Zig Clean Color Real Brushes and spread the colors with a water brush.
After everything dried, I die cut my image with the "Wonky Stitched Rectangle Stax" and added my sentiment from the Dani Peuss Klartext stamp set "Alles Gute". To finish off my card, I added some sequins by Studio Katio and adhered everything onto a piece of craft foam and then glued it onto my card base.

    Hello everyone,
today I made a simple card with the Mama Elephant "Little Cat Agenda" set. I got the idea from a Youtube video by Kristina Werner and she made a similar card. I liked it so much that I had to make my own card.
I took a piece of cardstock and masked off a part oft it with Frogtape. Then I applied some Distress Inks, blended them and sprinkled some water onto it. Then I picked up the water with a clean paper towel. This way I picked up a bit of the ink, because Distress Inks react with water.
Then I stamped my cat images and colored them with Copic Markers.

    Hello everyone,
today I have another bunch of Mother's Day cards.
Since today my delivery of the Zig Clean Color Real Brushes arrived and I had to try them out. I saw them on Youtube and was really fascinated by the gorgeous colors you get with these. But I thought for a long while that my watercolors are sufficient. In the end I gave in and just bought them. And what should I say it was definitely worth it. After doing some research, I chose the set with 48 colors because you get a real good cost-benefit ratio. And the other colors I didn't miss up to now.

My first card was the first try with these pens. I just stamped some flowers from the Altenew set "Peony Bouquet" and "Majestic Bloom" with Versamerk ink and heat embossed them with white embossing powder.
Afterwards I laid down my colors with the Zig Clean Color pens, where I wanted to have my shadows and spread these out with a waterbrush pen. For the background I used a piece of gray cardstock and embossed it with an embossing folder, then to finish off my card I added some sequins by Studio Katia.

This card I gave to my aunt, because I had a package lying around which I had not send to her yet and I thought it would be a nice gesture.

For the second card I wanted to do another try the Altenew "Adore You" set again but with white embossing powder. Some how I had the feeling that the contrast between the delicate flowers and the Versafine "Black Onyx Ink" might be a bit too harsh. Furthermore I wanted to play around yet a bit more with my Zig Clean Color Real Brushes. Because I had no pink cardstock, I used my Copic Markers once more to color the outer border of a piece of cardstock and glued that to my card base. The little bow is die cut from a piece of white cardstock which I colored too.
In the end I have to admit, that with the light pink and the white embossing the card is a bit too bright for my taste and I miss a bit of contrast. But my best friend liked it so much, so I gave it to him for his mother.

    Hello everyone,
I just could not resist making another card. With the same technique as for the Mother's Days cards, I stamped my Altenew "Garden Hydrangea" Layering Stamps with Ranger Distress Ink and then used a waterbrush pen. With my Copic markers I colored the sentiment so that it matched the background and did the same for my card base. To make the sentiment pop a bit more in front of the background, I glued it onto a piece of vellum and decorated it with some sequins by Studio Katia.

    Hello everyone,
today I made a bunch of Mother's Day cards. Each year for Mother's Day I send out some cards not only to my mother but to my granny as well, because it makes her so happy and she did so much for me.
For all three cards I colored the visible border of my card base with some matching Copic Markers. I think that way the flowers pop even a bit more and it looks nice and fresh.

For the first card I wanted to use some water colors. I just don't along with them. But even though it didn't turn out like I planned, I really liked the result.

    Dies:

    Colors:
    Versafine "Black Onyx Ink"
    Schminke Aquarellfarben
    Copic Marker RV00 "Water Lilly"

For the second card I used a technique that I saw on Youtube. I just took some images from the Layering stamp set "Dahlia Blossoms" and stamped them with Distress Ink. Then I just wetted the image with a waterbrush pen. Because Distress Ink reacts with water, you can pull out some of the color and this way get some beautiful color blendings.

Since I liked the technique for the second card so much, I definitely had to try it with another layering set and some other colors. And what should I say, I was highly exited about the result. With the "Peony Bouquet" set you get really wonderful, detailed stamped imaged and the colors are really vibrant.

    Hello everyone,
I got the request to make a card for a youth ceremony for a young girl. Since unicorns are totally popular at the moment, I thought, I use them for my cards.
First I die cut all my stamped images and colored them with my Copic markers. Then I started with my slider mechanism. With the "Slide On Over" dies by Lawn Fawn I die cut my slider. Behind my unicorn I glued the "Slider Elements" by My Favorite Things. To ensure that the slider slides really good, I used two layers of foam tape before I put everything together.
Finally I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.
